Remove hum shall be quite easy - just use notch filters for 50/60Hz and multiples (50/60Hz depend from main power frequency of coz). Recording in stereo mono track then converting to mono without reducing level before conversion but after (valid for conversion from 16/32 bit stereo to 32 bit mono) can give some small (3dB) noise reduction. Now I try find way remove mains supply hum. ![]() ![]() I listen small artifact especially at low level sound, but result satisfactory. Now my roadmap Adobe Audition 3 : covert to mono (because original tape recording is mono), remove clip, normalize at -3dB, adaptive noise reduction (preset light noise reduction at High Quality Mode) and normalize to 0dB. I try also SoundForge NR with the same result.
